Wire displacement sensors detect ground movement in unstable areas, offering reliable geotechnical monitoring in high-risk environments.
The system consists of a housing unit containing a rotary potentiometer and a cable tensioning mechanism. The other end of the stainless steel cable is fixed to a second reference point using an anchor. The cable is kept under constant tension, allowing for precise detection of relative displacement between the two points.
The steel cable can extend up to 10 meters, making the system suitable for large-scale monitoring applications.
